Nowadays, digital music files are everywhere, in mobile phones, car stereos, media devices, TVs and so on. That's why the audio CD is losing track and less people are using it. That's because music files have a huge advantage over an audio CD. While an audio CD can store 74 minutes of music, a large hard disk can store hours of music, at CD quality. This is why one should convert all his audio CD collection into music files. For doing this, a user could turn to Windows Media Player, for converting audio CDs into WMA or MP3 files. But unfortunately, this solution is not one of the best. That's because WMP lacks a lot of audio conversion features and it's only limited to WMA or MP3.

Using AudioGrabber is a great idea. The software is one of the oldest programs of this kind, but still manages to do its job exactly how an average user wants it. The interface of the newest version of AudioGrabber hasn't changed, still being very simple to use and offering just the features desired by most users. The support for the Windows operating system hasn't changed either and now, the program is also compatible with Windows 7. The application is virtually compatible with any CD drive and any audio disc.

For making the program work, one should only insert an audio CD into the drive, configure the format of the audio file and also configure some settings regarding the conversion process and that's it. AudioGrabber is compatible with the WAV and MP3 formats, which are the most used audio formats on the market. Optionally, the program can be set to automatically normalize audio files before they are converted. Besides that, track and artist information can be downloaded from a CDDB server, in case this information is not found on the audio CD.

Pros

It allows configuring all the aspects of the conversion process, like choosing one of the two audio formats supported and also setting the quality of the final audio file. Besides that, track and artist information can be automatically downloaded from a CDDB website. Furthermore, the program can normalize tracks before they are converted into audio files, making them all have the same volume level.

Cons

The program only supports MP3 and WAV files. AudioGrabber is a simple application that can rip any audio CD into MP3 or WAV audio files.
